“DISCOUNT LINK WWW.AMAZON.COM Customer Reviews: “I was worried from reading the other reviews that I would have problems. (including reviews outside of Amazon) After doing a lot of research I realized that it was probably the right fit for what I want. I have a MAC Power Book – OS 10.6.6 I had been using only the 1/8th inch jack on the side for input and that, obviously, wasn’t cutting it. I wanted to use an electric guitar and a near field mic for vocals – specifically a Sure SM57 – because I’m recording in a place where I can’t control the outside sounds and if I want to get a clean sound without a lot of background noise and a low noise floor, I knew I would need the less sensitive and more directional mic. The Sure SM57 needs a pre-amp that generates at least 54db to 60db, because it’s a dynamic mic. The Mackie Onyx Blackjack 2×2 USB was the only USB box I found who’s pre-amp was that strong. Since I have a MAC there was no “driver” problems talked about in other reviews. I plugged the box in, went to the System Preferences Sound switched the “Audio In” to Onyx Blackjack, started up “Logic” and it worked instantly. No issues at all. Good quality sound. No Clicks, No Latency. Simple and Perfect for what I want it for. I tested it on Electric Guitar and then vocals with the SM57, and with some larger diaphragm mics. It does the job I want it to do, and I give it 5 stars.” “Don’t let all of these bad reviews deter you. They are all about drivers. Most of those people …
“DISCOUNT LINK WWW.AMAZON.COM Customer Reviews: “I needed an audio interface for recording some voice-overs on some training videos. After reading many reviews on several sites, the two main complaints about the audiobox were problems with 64 bit drivers and preamps that were too hot, causing clipping at the lowest gain settings. I decided to give the audiobox a shot because the complaints about the driver issues were several months old, and I wasn’t concerned about the hot preamps because the mic I was planning to use, the Studio Projects B1, has a built-in pad. I’m happy to report I had zero problems on my Win7 x64 system with the latest drivers from the Presonus website. I also did not experience any problems with hot preamps and did not have to use the pad on my mic. I was planning to use Audacity, but since the Studio One software comes with the audiobox, I gave it a try and it’s very nice. I was concerned it would be too complex for a simple voice-over track, but so far it’s been very easy to edit and manipulate the audio, even for someone with zero sound production experience. I’m very happy with my purchase and recommend this to anyone that wants to step-up from a USB microphone.” “This is the best external sound card I have ever used to record. I have used quite a few over the years and presonus has all the competition beat hands down. This unit is extremely quite, it reproduces exactly what it captures without adding any color as some cheaper units tend to taint …

With switchable phantom power, you can connect dynamic or condenser microphones to the XLR or 1/4″ input. Use the Hi-Z connection for a guitar or bass, and connect line level devices through the RCA in/outs on the back. Both the mic and guitar inputs have gain level dials, making it easy to control your levels without having to use your mouse! The adjustable headphone out is perfect for monitoring your mix. The built in hardware reverb makes it easy to add effects without taxing your CPU. As a class compliant audio interface, you can connect the AudioLink USB to your iPad, Mac OS X, Windows 7, Vista or Windows XP (32 or 64 bit) machine and start recording right away – no need to install drivers. Low latency ASIO drivers are available. Use the Apple Camera Connection kit to connect the AudioLink II to your iPad so you can record from a mic or guitar directly to your iPad! No drivers to install, high quality 48kHz sample rate, pass-thru audio connections, optical audio output. Much better than a built-in PC sound card. Link to a mix recording where I used this device: www.youtube.com Also: after testing I realized you can also use this device to output sound from your computer, probably at a higher quality than the built in sound card. However, while using this your other audio card will be muted.
Wanted to post a quick video letting everyone know about two problems I had with my newly purchased Mic. The two main problems I had were the feet fell off, and there is a hissing noise in the mic that comes through when I record. Luckily, the extremely nice and easy customers service reps at UniqeSquared.com were able to replace it! I believe the one I have right now be a manufacture defect. When I get a new mic I will be posting a final review and another audio test with a guitar. Leave a comment telling me what you think!
