Alesis iO2 Express
Slated for a street price of under 0, the iO2 Express is a surprisingly capable 2-channel, cross-platdform audio interface.

is it meant to record through only the left side or the right? because what i sing only goes through one side of my headphones. how do i change that?
@69KEDDY69 Check the pan on the software or hardware your using
@69KEDDY69 There’s a switch around the bottom of the mixer that says mono/stereo. Flick it up to mono. I think that should work.
ok i have an windows vista laptop.. anybody know wat program i should download so i can use this interface…. audacity ? fl studio ?
Is each input stereo? That’s the problem I’m having with m-audio
@a7xmetallica1991 i think you get cubase in the box?
@CardCoreFaitHh @rollituplightitup85 I have this interface and i can say the main outputs are of good quality. I’ve set up both of my KRK’s with this. It doesn’t support XLR, but 1/4″ jacks (like guitar cabels). If you need xlr outputs, you could always look for xlr to jack cables, you need cables anyway! But if you’re planning on using active studio monitors, you’re often good with jack to rca. I hope this helped a bit
ok just a note so all you win7x64 users dont haveta kill yerselves, use the generic low latency driver that comes with this, it helps LOADS. it will act like cubase doesnt like it but it will work, set your latency just below middle, about 36 worked for me and bam, theres still a little lag but it’s manageable with no hiss and pop
hi, good job… I would like to know if the Alesis io2 express is able to record 1 guitar and 1 voice simultaneously and then to send this 2 inputs into 2 separated tracks into cubase.
Thanks in advice!
io2 SUCKs!!!!!!! its only support MME.. you cant use ASIO or WDM with it. i’ve try it and I prefer to use ASIO FOR ALL(f.o.c) compare to what you’ve to pay for nothing or get
Behringer FCA202 which work great for same price…
@Amon24383 That should be no problem, I can do it with Logic.
This device is awesome! I use it with Logic Pro 9. I just plug it into my macbook pro and it simply works. Mainly i’m using it for recording my guitar.
I also tried recording through a condenser mic using the phantom power, that works like a charm as well. And the io2 express only uses your usb for power.
Don’t know how it performs on a windows computer, i suspect the results will be similar.
Great value for money!
@kunee51 bullshit, it works perfectly fine with Asio4all.. There’s probably something wrong with your configuration
what do they do like wahts there purpose somebody please help /
Could anyone please help me with the numerous problems I’ve got? Obviously, there’s womething wrong with my PC (Win 7 32bit) but when I plug the headphones in, both channels play in the left ear and there’s nothing in the right, has anyone experienced the same problem?
@WorldStarBeatz this is actualy a pretty useful product if your home recording. once you have hooked up a dynamic mic to your amp or (instrament/amp mic) then the cabel at the end of that is a 3-prong jack… 3-prong jacks simply cannot be hooked up to a computer so you must first hook it up to a product like this. and then you can hook this up to your computer via usb. ! hope i helped!
@TheDeathMetalMaster hello no lol what does it acually do ?
@WorldStarBeatz in simpler terms, it allows you to gonect guitar to computer, or mic. to computer.
juat a simple interface
@JohnnyMidgey I have the same problem, When I record, the audio only comes out from one speaker!
@Seanmanche We tried changing the headphones and it worked with Sennheiser, but not with Panasonic…
@JohnnyMidgey I seem to have the same Problem as well. I can only hear sound out of my left headphone.. Would you mind saying what Sennheiser headphones you bought which worked for you?
What’s the best way to connect this to my amp? I have my guitar and a Behringer FCB1010 connected to the Alesis, the Alesis connected to my computer using Logic and Mainstage software. I want to have the sound output to my Peavey Valveking 212 amp, but I’m not sure which cords to use, I’m guessing I don’t just want to use the headphone port because I want the highest quality possible from the Logic/Mainstage effects.
I´m using this on a Windows 7 pc, i have the asio drivers installed and aslong as im only playing sound from the pc trough the interface into speakers everythings fine, as soon as i activate the microphone however (both mic input and guitar line in), or open ableton i start getting a peeping noise, the sound quality and and latency are perfect, how do i stop the peeping?
